mat's bit on nurses and the state of nurses in the country is powerful and enlightening. I knew they were underpaid, but it's not easy to sympathize with a situation until someone like he ( and the amazing harper) point us towards it -- which , I think, is also part of the problem. should we have to be pointed to it ? I mean, I personally know teachers are underpaid, as I think most of us know, but then what ? we need action to resolve these long talked about issues.
